Maybe he means 1000 Mhz fsb dual channel? Not too familiar with AMDs anymore...
Me neither, i googled it and it says 1000mhz and on other sites it says 2000mhz, i think you are right in the dual chanel as it doesnt "quad pump" like the Intels do. he is after some RAM and looking at me for advice but last amd i had was the old 3200 and an opteron 146! dont know what to tell him!
For a 1066 FSB (266 Quad-pumped) Intel CPU you only need 266MHz (DDR2-533) RAM which is PC5300......you bought RAM rated at twice your CPUs FSB....the numbers are very misleading.
The 2000MHz FSB AMD talk about is actually the hypertransport bus......the X2 AM2 CPUs themselves are 800MHz (200 Quad-pumped) IIRC and therefore would support DDR2-400 and above.
so any ddr2 400 will be best performer?
