When my PC is off...

...It still seems like half the frigging motherboard is still on!

The red light on the mobo stays on, and the USB ports are still powered. It hasn't bothered me up until now, now that my Matrix Orbital LCD stays on when I power down, it's a bit annoying. I don't wanna shorten the life expectancy of this thing.

So it's some sort of power management/wake up thing I'm guessing... Any ideas as to how to get the blasted thing to turn right off?

Not really. I am used to pressing the power button and leaving the room, not waiting till it's done to turn off the PSU. Lol.

it's the correct answer though. you can try checking your bios for options relating to keyboard power-up, any kind of suspend features that might be USB related

ATX requies that the motherboard be powered at all times - since the power button is connected to the motherboard not to the PSU

Yeah I was just wondering if there was some obscure option about the USB ports. Never mind. I managed to set an Event on LCDC to clear the screen and turn off the backlight when it shuts down so that'll have to do!

Well guys aparently there are jumpers to turn off USB and PS2 power when it's off. Any idea where these are? They're not documented anywhere

Yer it will be a jumper to disable the 5v standby to USB and PS/2 ports.

Look for a 3 pin jumper with 5VSB on it or something (that's what it's called on this MSI I've got on my desk, but MSI are very good at labelling the PCB).

I leave them enabled as my phone charger is USB meaning even when the machine is turned off i can still charge my phone.

I think you can, the one i've got comes with an adapter that fits every phone but Samsungs which is a shame as i also have a samsung. I'm sure google would turn up some results if you searched for USB Phone Charger.
