Motherboard not recognizing dual channel memory

Hello I posted this in another forum already.

I just put together a system with a p5k Premium.

    I have 1gb x2 of Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 1066 PC 8500.

The motherboard will only boot up with a single stick in (I've tried both and they both boot up by themselves) ,but will not boot up with both in either the yellow or black memory slots.

I placed 1 stick in the first yellow and 1 stick in the first black slot and it booted them fine, but as single channel. I'm definitely no expert, but I'm pretty sure they have to be in the same color slots to be running in dual channel right?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Motherboard not recognizing dual channel memory

Have you adjusted the RAM voltage to the setting required by the memory?? Most high end stuff doesn't automatically work with more than one stick until you do that. Then you just have to put them into the same coloured slots.

Re: Motherboard not recognizing dual channel memory

Some motherboards (not sure about yours tbh) have a setting in them to turn Dual Channel on/off
