    New build bsods

I put together my new build last thursday and finally got round to playing with it, it was all on auto settings in the bios and i installed a freash copy of XP, i tried to install windows updates and got a bsod, sorted that probelm out with the help of some guys on the os forum here. But got another one later on installing the the patch for battlefield. I ran memtest and it stopped with an "interupt halting error".

    It's an Asus p5k-e bios 503
    Q6600
    corsair 520
Geil 6400 ultra low latency RAM as suggested by staffsmike.

I have tried following clunks guide to get the right things disabled in the bios (not overclocking currently due to stock heatsink and fan) and set the RAM at 4 4 4 12 1T timing at 667mhz (lowest in the bios), CPUz says it's running a divider of 4:5 334.Mhz at 2t i have set the voltage to 1.9 and they are in the yellow slots.

Is there anything i am missing or should i just send the RAM straight back to overclockers?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Ok i bought them at overclockers so i am a bit worried about the return and getting my money back. I

Is it best to send them back as faulty or to just send them back under the 7 day distance selling.

Which way will i get my money back fastest?

Send them back under distance selling..... if you send them as faulty they can dispute this, but under distance selling regs they have to give you a refund. Then buy some more from Microdirect Either way I fear it may take you a while to get your cash. Took me 23 days and the threat of court proceedings to get refund on the same RAM from them

    Re: New build bsods

I did some more testing last night in memtest V1.70 but first i upped the voltage on the RAM to 2.2 and set it to T2 timming i left the rest as 4 4 4 12. i let it run for 4 and half hours first just the test as it is when it loads then around 2 hours of just test 5 as instructed somewhere in clunks very long thread and all was fine.

I have till wednesday to test the RAM and inform them that i would like a refund. So i will see how it goes tonight.

Could anyone who owns the RAM tell me if it is meant to run on 1T or 2T timmings?

This is my first Intel build and i am learning as i go along.

Either. Didn't know you could alter the command rate on that board.... 2T can give better maximum overclocks, but not sure how it works out on P35s.
