I won't be able to find an unlocked one new anymore. Your best bet is either looking around the varios computer forums at the for sale sections or give Ebay a try.

If you're very lucky you may have a computer shop near you that has some old stock (pre wk40) but that's doubtful.

How much are you willing to pay for one though?

How do you know if its unlocked? Some boards can unlock them no? So how do I know if my board is unlocking it or the cpu is unlocked. I can select any FSB or multiplier I want. Mines a wk 33/34 I think.

Before wk40 they're all unlocked which is why you can select your multiplier. I don't think it's to do with the board at all.

My board (Asus V7600) lets me change the multiplier on my week 46 2500 Barton.... No idea if it "sticks" at the change limit or just defaults back cause I havent saved the changes

I've heard that the multiplier cant be unlocked but one can overclock by increasing the FSB.So then even alocked 2500 should be capable of 11x200 equivalent to 2.2ghz. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The board and chip I have allows both mutli AND FSB to be changed. As I say, I havent tested it fully i.e. I dont know if it will keep the multiplier changes or just reset to default or even not boot at all.

I will test it on Thurs when I get a chance.
