My mate just asked me if i could build him a computer for around £900...I don't want to overclock it as voiding the warrenty for him doesn't seem wise.
Here are some quick specs I wacked up - what do you think?
Cheers,
Jamie

Fine.. no need for the case fans - the ones that come with the case are near silent.
Any particular reason for Ultimate? Home premium is just as good.
You could perhaps get a 320gb hard drive - they're often a bit quicker than the 250, and the space is handy.
Finally you could get the 450W corsair PSU and it'd still be more than enough.
With the money saved I'd up to a 20 or 22 inch monitor at 1680x1050 - you'll get more use out of that graphics card and it'll be better for just about everything.
any reason for vista ultimate?
i would save the cash and get vista home premium.
ok seems someone else has asked the same questions about ultimate vs home premium.
btw does vista home premium support more than one psysical processer?
or do you neeed vista business or ultimate for that?

Heck, with the downgrade to Home Premium, you can get this monitor Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
Nothing amazing but I'm sure it'll do the job.
Battlefield 2142 is rubbish
Get the orange box instead :]
Thanks for the replies - I have to stay with vista ultimate becasue it needs to be able to use a domain (which i don't think home premium does)
This may sounds like a crime (don't shout at me) but I've never actually played on any Counter Strike or Half Life game so don't know what i'm missing...I'm giving battlefield 2142 as i also have it so online play would be nice.
Yeah business or ultimate will be needed to connect to a domain (I'm fairly sure they are the only ones which can use more than 1 physical CPU as well).
