    Where oh where is STD-8110.ROM?

So I have the RC410L/800-M Motherboard from ECS, which right now, I hate.

Windows Vista Home Premium will not install and I continually get a "STOP" error. ECS Support can't do a thing. Anyways, I've looked around and found information on the board and possible causes. I am not alone. Turns out that quite a few other people have this problem.

The file I need is STD-8110.ROM but it is absolutely no where. I asked ECS to send it to me but I have gotten no reply. The server that a few people have linked to is crapped out, there is nothing there but a 404 error in an Asian language.

Does anyone know where I can get STD-8110.ROM? I just need the file... its less that 1MB but it isn't anywhere! Help!!!

You're not the only one to have suffered this issue at Hexus.

I believe that this is the file you need. Good luck and welcome to Hexus.

That must link to the same server the OP mentioned - gives a 404 error.

It seems ECS have removed all links to that BIOS file and marked the board as Vista incompatibile, despite it working!!

MajorD - I would try PMing the users posting in the threads Iranu linked to above. If you're lucky, one of them will have the file you need.

So it does. I didn't actually check the individual file as I assumed it would work, bizarre.

The thread in the top link lists a Hexus member called "wzad". I'm sure if you PM him explaining the issue he'll be able to send you the correct file.

wzad, hasn't posted on here since January, so its very unlikely he'll see this thread. If you Pm him then, depending on how his profile is setup, he'll get an email prompting him to respond.

Re: Where oh where is STD-8110.ROM?

I should have put this in the last post...the ECS website link appears to be back up!!
I tried to post the link, but I am a new member, so it would not let me....just add the 3 w's before the link below...

    ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/FAQ_Answer.aspx?FAQID=2006031504&MenuID=65&LanID=0

    It worked for me.

If you have trouble, I can send to you...just need an email.

You might have received more assistance had you not bumped a three year old thread, tbh...

And if someone was having problems finding this file 3 years ago, it's likely to be even harder to get hold of now...

Re: Where oh where is STD-8110.ROM?

After some serious searching, I found it on 4shared " search.4shared.com/q/1/STD-8110 " -copy and paste url -I joined just so I could share this and maybe save someone the trouble. I'm now running Windows 7 Enterprise x64 on my old POS RC410L/800-M with STD-8110.ROM. YAY

  15. Received thanks from:

    strange sense of deja-vu, captain...

That's very kind of you, but given the original post in this thread was seven years ago, and the last post in it was four years ago, I suspect the people looking for it have long since moved on to new PCs. I'm kind of impressed that someone's still got an old P4 rig they considered worth upgrading to Win 7! Now you've joined, feel free to contribute to the rest of Hexus - it's always nice to have helpful new members around

popping a thanks in just for sheer dedication

I never look at dates on threads either, im terrible for posting on threads that someone has necroed. Thankfully Hexus has lots of interesting threads that are several years old, they don't get boring
