Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
Well, what is your computer environement? Are you going to use headphones more than speakers? Personally I always prefer speakers to headphones if there's no reason I can't use them.
Also consider Altec Lansing MX5020s - I've been very impressed with mine.
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
would be worth your time figuring out whether heaphones or speakers would be more practical first

Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
have no problems using speakers, but prefer using headphone (if comfy), however i don't mind using speakers if i will get better sound quality or a more atmospheric sound environment
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
I always use headphones these days... less chance of pissing off everyone else in the house :p
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
also, you want to figure out if you want 2 channel or 5 channel sound, cause you have 1 of each for both headphones and speakers... would you value surround sound over general sound quality?
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
preferably 5.1
however i rather get good 2.0 than rubbish 5.1
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
headphones for games, speakers for generally everything. it's less hassle putting the headphones on taking them off and so on. i have to get up from the pc regularly so it's annoying wearing them for general use.
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
I watch TV at the same time as I use my PC, so I need speakers so I can have both sounds at the same time. :D
But for a £50 budget, you can get mediocre speakers or GREAT headphones.
So I'm no help. :P

not for £50 :(
maybe 70 or 80 I think on scan they have them.
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
Wireless headphones are very very poor at the moment, they are also prone to interference so I wouldn\'t consider them. I got a nice set of Beyer DT231 for about £25 a while back, although for the £50 mark there is a massive selection of good headphones to choose from. Check out the head-fi.org forums for suggestions. As for speakers, I\'ve heard good things about those but I run Aego M\'s, £90 from ebuyer and worth every penny :D .

Where from? If you don't mind me asking :)
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
I own a pair of speed link medusa's, they have great sound quality, the 5.1 aspect isn't as good as with speakers (as you would expect) and i would reccomend them, saying that, i am RMA'ing them on monday due to a fault, had them for 4 months, these are meant to be pretty good also Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
Yes i've goot the medusa's too, they're great
Re: £50 speakers or £50 headphones?
If you want some decent speakers for a decent price, i would recommend the JBL Creature speakers. They are not ground breaking, but really decent sound, good price, and nice to look at.
Amazon has then for about £43 with free delivery: Amazon.co.uk: JBL Creature II White Mac/Win: Electronics & Photo
Lots of colour options too.
I have some sennheiser headphones too, picked up for about £35 a while back, and whilst good, i still vastly prefer the speakers
