    Delphi Grundig

Sorry if this is wrong section, if so mods please move.

Customer brought in a Sat Nav wanting to upgrade to a newer one, but ato sell his due to a problem. The Sat Nav is a Delphi Grundig Nav100. I agreed to have a look at it but now it is here it is driving me bloody crackers.

First of all it refuses to show itself via USB, it's charging quite happily but not appearing in Windows even though XP flashed up "New hardware is installed and ready to use" so I took the memory card out and into my card reader where it worked. I formatted it so it was a clean card and then installed the UK mapping.

Put the card back into the machine and it does the same thing again, not correctly installed. Now as far as I know it is installed correctly.

Anyone have any experience with this unit or any ideas on how to fix it.

    Re: Delphi Grundig

Sounds like an issue somewhere within the USB subsystem. Charging properly simply means that the power management circuitry is intact and working, there could still be an issue with the internal USB hardware, or with the firmware driving it.

If it is possible to flash the firmware somehow, try that.

    Re: Delphi Grundig

To be honest I am not really sure what we can do with it, I reloaded the Map via my USB Printer with Card Reader (Epson RX425) and the same error came up. I know it is not my PC as it is plugged into a front USB and my Pen Drive works fine in the same port.

    Re: Delphi Grundig

Try in one of your rear usb ports, these often more stable/reliable than the front ports. Prob won't make any difference, but at least you could say you tried all to get it sorted.

    Re: Delphi Grundig

I am going to try one of my own 1gb cards just to see if its a faulty unit and will also try putting pictures on his 512, if it works I shall simply ask for the cost of replacing the 1gb and get it working again.
