    Oh for fug sake.

Right turned my main pc back on after been on standby for a while and it decided to reboot then started to scream at me (long beebs) and hung at C1 on the board (abit quad gt) so after clearing the cmos same thing.

Did a bit of reading and found out it could be a ram problem strange I thought as it was running at 1110mhz and was stable for 24hrs under a mem checker and prime 95, so I went to take the first stick out same thing, replaced it with the second stick and it booted up fine (with a few errors I will admit) then tried the ram in my other pc and the same thing.

So it looks like Ive got some dead ram here guys you all think the same.

Certainly sounds like it. I don't like putting my desktop in standby.. i'd just shut down.

    Re: Oh for fug sake.

might be worth checking the contacts on both mobo and memory and cleaning them with electrolube (or other electrical contact switch cleaner).

are both the sticks same manufacturer & spec?

    Re: Oh for fug sake.

Very good as I'm told and they got back to me very quickly over email questions..but I don't remember if ocz are one where you have to send it back to the states.

    Might be wrong though.

What sort of timings are you using? Have you tried loosening them? Also make sure you're not killing your modules by overvolting them.

Thats not so bad then. Certainly be cheaper going through ocuk though so long as you don't die trying

    Re: Oh for fug sake.

P.S. Don't clean the ram contacts with anything especially 'electrolube' or switch cleaner . They all leave a 'film' . Only stuff that doesn't is pure alcohol. You will find that your ram is quite tight to insert into the sockets and merely inserting the ram will provide any 'contact cleaning' that is necessary.

    Re: Oh for fug sake.

Well a bit of news to this hopefully good.

I tried the ram about half hour after I posted the first post, and one stick wouldnt work yet the other did but then for some reason I swapped them around and they both work in all slots aswell, might have something to do with giving the contacts a quick clean over with my t-shirt but they made 3 passes of memtest+86 without a hiccup so I think everything is fine.

    Comments guys.

Oh there running at 5-5-5-15 at 2.28v there good up to 3.00v.
