    HALP! o.O

    I've been an AMD freak for years, but it's time for me to upgrade again, and the Quad Core Q6600 is just too good to turn down at the moment.

    I need help choosing a motherboard though. I've looked around and seen people using the P5K boards, but i'm really not sure what to buy. I don't want to spend a load on features i'm not going to use, so I need some advice.

    Here's what i'm looking for;

    I plan on overclocking the CPU. I heard that it can reach 1600FSB on air, and that sounds damn good to me
    I only need 1 n/w port
    SATA is a must, but most boards will have this
    Will be using an ATI card, but not interested in CrossFire
    Will be looking to add 4Gb DDR2 RAM

    Any suggestions? Remember, i'm looking for a decent board I don't want to spend loads just for the sake of it. As long as I can get all the features above i'll be happy.

    Cheers

    One board could do that fine, while another might not move further than a Mhz overclock. Its the nature of overclocking im afraid

    I prefer the Abit range over the ASUS. I've used many ASUS boards, and the support they have is a joke compared to Abits (Long BIOS update waiting times, RMA isn't a patch on the UK's, UK PHONE support in a UK office.....)
    Each to their own though

    You're going to be waiting a long time, I reckon. Surely X38 is what you need.

    Nice setup, i'm not sure how far your going to get OC'ing a Q6600 with a ACF7, i'm sure some other hexites will be able to give you a rough estimate though..
