Wow, two completely non-constructive posts in one thread. It won't be a very long road, as I said this board is only a temporary measure enabling me to upgrade my graphics card now. I'll be looking to get a new CPU, memory and a high-quality motherboard fairly soon, I just couldn't afford to do it all in one go. The board was cheap which is what I was looking for; a cheap Socket 939 stopgap with PCIe slot(s) to

In any case (for those didn't come to this post simply to spread messages of doom) I got the board working. It didn't like the old, crappy Matrox graphics card. I replaced this with an even older, crappier S3 Virge and it works just fine. The memory seems to run fine at the standard 2.6V, I got the latest BIOS on it and a nice clean XP install. My new 8800GTX arrived today and it's in there in place of the S3 now and I think it'll do for the time being. Thanks to those who posted helpful suggestions.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
