    Re: 1000 pound pc challange

Build the PC I suggested from the other one and get a 22" widescreen with the £250+ change

It will play anything you want it to. The GTX is slightly better but not worth the £100+ premium.

the only way I can see you building a significantly better PC is waiting for new quads, graphics etc.. to come out. Or SLi GT's

    Re: 1000 pound pc challange

no idea on the grpahics card. But there won't be anything midrange again for good 6 months to a year. The replacement for the GTX will be £300 or more.

New quads are out in january. No idea on the price for the lower end ones though. (high end ones tend to be £300 - £600 lol)

"im a game like everyone else"

Anyway for that sort of money you should be getting

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    Q6600 G0 (OEM)

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    Freezer 7 Pro

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    Asus P5K-E

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    Corsair XMS2 2gb 800Mhz

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    Asus 8800GT

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
    Samsung DVD RW

+Hard Drive, case, PSU, monitor chosen to fit your needs

Something like this will play games for a while now and is a pretty good all round spec

like mike said a single 22inch is probably a better idea than dual 19inch

Nothing from stopping you from using a 19" along with a new 22".

remember oem's have no warranty, except the 1 year from the retailer I think. not to hijack the thread but this has got me wondering, if i buy an item with 3 years warranty. does it start after the retailers warranty ends or on the day of purchase?
