    5.1 speakers with optical in?

I was planning to get one of the logitech sets (z5400, z5450 or z5500) for the HTPC setup I'm planning, but I showed the girlfriend the z5500's and they completely failed the GAT (Girlfriend Acceptance Test). She also pointed out that we really didn't need hoofing great speakers in a small ground floor flat, and that our neighbours wouldn't thank us on the floors above.

She may have a point I suppose.

So, I need set of (smaller) 5.1s but I'd still really like to have optical in to accept digital from the Auzentech X-Plosion soundcard I'm getting. Can you guys suggest anything?

Re: 5.1 speakers with optical in?

The z5500 speakers aint that big to be fair. Granted the sub is huge but i live on first floor apartment and i use the system without any complaints, my gf has no problem with the look of them etc.. and they seem to fit nicely in our lounge with the rest of my entertainment system and the black leather of the sofa.

If you want an alternative i am at a loss as to an alternative system, the creative 5.1 systems only seem to have 3.5mm jack connections as far as i can tell from their website...

Fair enough, I'll work on her a little more then. Just because I've got 200W doesn't mean I have to use them all!
