HDD Setup
I was wondering what people thought would be the best HDD setups for performance. For example, I currently have one HDD for my windows install and all programs, and a second larger disk for all my files/downloads/etc.
I'm going to be doing a full rebuild soon and I'm impatient so I thought I'd try and get a faster HDD setup to decrease those loading times a bit :) What i was thinking is something like two smallish high performance disks (raptors?) on raid 0 for the windows/applications drive, and a the same single large HDD for the main data storage.
Is this a good plan? Any suggestions welcomed, last time I looked into HDDs was over 3 years ago when I built my current PC :)

Re: HDD Setup
I wouldn't bother with raptors but raid 0 isn't a bad idea.
Partitioning is something else to consider. Zak33 has a good theory on that.. you may need to search to find it though.

Re: HDD Setup
I followed the guide with one HD, 100 gig for windows/apps/games and 400 for storage, and it is indeed nippy.

Re: HDD Setup
Zaks guide with RAID0 is worth doing. First partition make about 100GBs, and the rest for your other stuff. Add another drive for backup purposes if you want.
