Re: Odd hardware problem???
Being a temperature problem is high on my list. I used to have a PC with a temperature problem, and it used to just shut itself down and then restart itself. When I replaced the CPU fan, it stopped happening.
First thing I'd do, is probably look inside and check that the CPU fan is spinning, and there isn't something stuck in there to stop it from spinning.
And you can also get Core Temp to check the temperature of it.
If that checks out ok, then might have to look into the motherboard being the problem.
Re: Odd hardware problem???
CPU temp is usually around 47 C. I've checked all the voltages and they are fine too

Re: Odd hardware problem???
Take the side panel off , see if it keeps happening.
There it wont even cost you money :)
Could be the graphics overheating, does it shut off when gaming or just when pootling around on the web ?
Re: Odd hardware problem???
Are you sure it's not the UPS itself? If it's pretty borderline in terms of output then it sounds entirely feasible.
Re: Odd hardware problem???
could be heatsink, if it's disloged. if you get a chance update motherboard bios and maybe go to a slightly older version of graphics driver. newer might bring more stability or older migh as well! either way consult manufactures website for issues.
if you had a system restore point before this happened do that then you'll know if it's something thats been added after and therefore a software problem.

No games - just office stuff :)
Graphics is a Matrox 650 which doesn't even get warm!
Internal case temp is running at about 34C

Worth checking. I've bypassed the UPS for now and we'll see what happens.
Thanks

CPU temp looks OK though at 47. BIOS is the latest.
Graphics driver hasn't changed since installation a year ago.
Will check for issues.
Thanks
Re: Odd hardware problem???
Bypassing the UPS was a good idea, to check.
