Ahhh! My Chipset is melting!
Just been poking around inside my PC while its on of course :D and happened to touch my chipset heatsink and promptly melted the end of my finger! I think the main problem is that the heaksink fins all run the wrong way to get any air flow (vertical while all air flow is front to back).
Anybody got a suggestion on an after market chipset cooler oh and just to make things complicated space is severely limited by my CPU cooler (Themalright Ultra 90) anything taller than ~35mm is going to be pushing it unless its narrower than the current one ~45x45x30mm (wxlxh).
The ideal solution I guess would be water cooling so much smaller cooling blocks compared to air cooling at least on the MB now where will I fit a pump, radiator and reservoir in my tiny weeny case...

A piccy may help. But really that heatsink should be fine. Try checking underneath it, and replace the thermal gunk with AS5 or whatever good stuff you have laying around, also consider the airflow in the case, if it's insufficient, change it (never took to Silverstone cases for this reason and exuberant prices).

odd my dads g33-DS3R's NB runs quite cool even overclocked it never gets hot as such that said i've just noticed the ds2r has a much smaller heatsink
i think the easiest thing to do would be to try and bodge a fan to blow over it somehow
or maybe one of the thermalright HR-05 series heatsinks will fit?
also if the Ultra 90 is in the way can it not be rotated to point upwards instead of sideways?

Thanks for the suggestions guys, sorted it by changing the voltage settings from auto to manual for the chipset and then leaving it at standard voltage. System is stable and chipset is warm to the touch but no more than that :)
Da_ging - As for turning the ultra 90 round and fitting a HR-05 while it would fit I'm not sure my case airflow would thank me... It would be like a solid wall of heatsink across the motherboard!
