    External CD enclosure

Does something along these lines exist?

I'm going to fit a removable 5.25" HDD caddy to my SN26P and am after some sort of CD enclosure to house initially my removed DVD writer, and when they come along a combo HD-DVD/BluRay writer.

I guess it will have to be USB, although USB+Firewire interfaces would be great!

I don't seem to be able to find anything - pointers anyone?

    Cheers...

Sorry - should also have noted - it needs to be SATA internally.

    Cheers...

    Re: External CD enclosure

Thanks, but this will be being moved around occasionally, so I'd prefer an enclosure, and also a firewire i/f if possible.....

    Re: External CD enclosure

You don't get them that often these days.

I have a few 5.25" IDE to Firewire cases that i've had for a few years now.

I was looking for a USB case when i got my new laptop, but got an firewire ExpressCard instead, that was easier to get a hold of.

I've never seen a SATA case, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, you may need to look at more specialist retailers instead of the normal Scan, dabs, Misco, etc.
