I think you should wait till Q1 08, for the new gear.

If you can't wait, I personally would get a Q6600 GO, and an 8800GT. The new GTS isn't that much faster evidently, and yet it is quite a lot more expensive. So I would get a GT and then sell it next year and get a 9800.

From all the reports i have been reading its 15%-20% faster than the 8800GT which is a significant gap. It will also be able to handle full AA at high res's.

As for the price..........the whisper is its between £200-230. Thats only £40-50 difeerent to a decent 8800GT which i think makes it much more of a bargain than the GT ever was/is.

BTW......Just seen some news that the newGTS is arriving on the 13th or 14th rather than the 3rd. Not sure how literally to take that though as almost everywhere it states the 3rd.

You mark my words....this is the reason for the GT shortage. The better card is taking all the production line time.

10% faster with no video unit, for a 100% price hike, the GTX not exactly a great buy..

Re: best 8800gtx

Look...its seems to be working like this.

- The GTX is a wate of cash. Its a decent card but its only 10-15% quicker than a GT for at least double the price so really it should be a no go card.
- The GT is a decent card...no doubt about that. But! the new GTS is very nearly here and its way better value and considerably quicker. I would expect that anyone who buys a GT within the next 2 weeks would seriously wish they hadnt once they set eyes on the new GTS.

so..................

GTS....all the way!

Lets be honest aswell...by the time you get a GT (if you chose that) the GTS's will be here anyway.
