whats the noise differnce with the antec 900 also whats the extra features on the ip35 pro ... wat raptor X you getting ? also i dont see the point on a raptor the price tage is liek 130 for 150gb id fill that in a day... is i t worth it i wanna get a raptor is the difference good ?Originally Posted by |_GuNsLiNgEr_|

When you play crysis if you are still using XP (like most of us...) I recommend the following: turn shaders and post processing to high (or indeed, turn everything to high if you can - but shaders and postprocessing are the minimum require for this to work), then go into Crysis\Game\Config\CVarGroups open sys_spec_PostProcessing.cfg in a text editor and change the last paragraph to:

r_sunshafts=1
r_MotionBlur=1
r_colorgrading=0
r_GlowScreenMultiplier = 0.2
The only change being that it turns on the sunshafts, which in some portions of the game are truly stunning
(This is a 'DX10 only effect' thus has a fair performance hit in XP under DX9, but is well worth it. And don't get me started on DX10 only... I for one am sticking with XP, now I've seen what you can 'unlock' with a little edit of some cfg files.)
XP is the bestlol completed crysis on low laggy x1800xt amd 3500+ 1gb ram
im looking at getting a
EVGA 8800GT Superclocked
and gettign somesort of crazy cooling for it not water cooling.. anyone got any suggestions
I've gone fo the Raptor as I will look to use an additional HDD when I get some more money. The Raptor will the n be used for my system Drive.
Tbh the difference probably isn't that great but I wanted to shell out and get it for a better upragde option down the line.
Not really sure what differences there are on the Asus IP35, and the Abit IP35 Pro and I havn't really had a look.
The Antec 900 is also quite loud on full throttle, but I guess the Cooling benefits out of the box makes up for it. The p182 is an awesome case though.

I was going to order some wd aaks's as they get good reviews in the Hexus forms, but after seeing neonplanet's recommendation for the samsung hd501lj t166 I looked into those.
They seem to run cooler, quieter and faster in some areas. There's a roundup here that includes both aaks and the hd50lj
If you are going to wait for a graphics card anyway, I'd hold out until January and grab a Q9450. This 2.66GHz, 12Mb cache, 1333MHz Yorkfield processor WILL be the new Q6600 GO in terms value for money. It should come in at sub-£200 and even less when the supply chain saturates.

these the new penryn chips everyone bveen talking about.. are they worth the wait are the worht the price coz i have been thinking bout waiting for the new intel stuff and new nvidia
You *really* want 4GB of RAM for Crysis, it was painful for me to play it while waiting for the HDDs to thrash the pagefile constantly, it really killed the performance at times. The amount of memory the game uses is insane.
Yeah its worth the wait imo. I think there will be a low end Penryn that is the equivalent of the Q6600. It might be a bit more expensive than the Q6600 is currently, but I dunno... But either way, it will be much better to have, for the future.
But even if you don't buy a Penryn, they will push the prices of the current chips down a lot. So you might end up saving so much on a Q6600 GO, that you can end up getting a better graphics card. As for graphics cards, its the same story really. The new GTS is meant to be amazing, and it is due very soon. And in Q1 08, there will be the uber new Geforce 9800's.
I'm getting an Antec 900 soon, after looking around at other cases.
I've heard it can be loud at full blast, but it has 3 120mm and a 200mm fan. Unless your system runs stupidly hot, you should never need to turn them up above low speed, which makes it very quiet.
Simply enough : few fans at high speed vs. lots fans at low speed. Which is likely to be quieter?
On a lower resolution with eye candy turned down it might....Otherwise it doesnt..
Unless you have got your build wrong you dont even need it at medium let alone full throttle.The Antec 900 is also quite loud on full throttle,
I am using one and the temps are very low...always under 28 degrees.

I just got one too on NewEgg last Wednesday! Sadly, eVGA had the SSCs on their site 4 hours later...lol
Since my PC won't be finished for another month (still need a mobo), I think I might step up my GT to one of the new GTS cards if the price is right...
why get oem cpu when the retail is about £10 more. (£8 more than OEM on today only at scan)
the extra 2 year warranty surely must be worth it unless you are going to lap the cpu or remove the ihs, it's good to be safeguarded for an extra £8
