    Which 120gb IDE Hard Drive?

Looking for a good 120gb IDE Hard Drive. Looking at the Samsung Spinpoint model.

Anyone got any experiance of this drive? How did you find it? Not that intereested in noise, just reliability and the like.

I got the Samsung Spinpoint 40GB model, runs perfectly. Had no problems at all. Have heard that all the Samsungs are just as reliable too!

No complaints here - got a 120GB one serving up ripped DVD's (running on SATA controller via a IDE->SATA converter) - as you are not interested in noise, this drive will suit you (Sir) just fine - it's very quiet indeed (I know you really meant you are not interested in whether it's noisy or not, but I thought I'd add that neway - as a bonus)

I'll agree, it is VERY quiet... but I didn't add that coz you said you weren't bothered about it!

I also have a spinpoint 80gb and Seagate 7200.7( tiny bit louder that the barracudas). The spinpoint is slightly louder at idle but when reading it is far quieter. Its also about 5deg colder too. Performance is also much better and its cheaper!
