If you take a new mobo and have an OEM XP then it will want reactivating. If you ring and tell them that your last mobo died they might be OK to reactivate. They did with me, but mine was just a later rev. of the same board.

It may just point blank refuse to install if it doesnt recognise it is a mesh system, dell cd's do that, although I doubt mesh are big enough to have that sort of system. You will probably therefore be able to install it but reactivating it will require phoning microsoft, who will do something between reactivating without question, requiring persuasion and point blank refusal.

The mesh's i've dealt with come with a standard OEM copy so it will be as in post #3.
I've never had a problem swapping a motherboard on an OEM copy as long as the old one is dead :)

Try to repair the windows install and see if that works.
