    which usb hdd caddy enclosure?

sumvision Sumvision USB 3.5 Hard Drive Caddy For IDE Drives Aluminium - Retail - Ebuyer

safecom Extra Value USB2.0 Hard Drive Caddy For IDE Drives - Retail - Ebuyer

both from ebuyer, do i get any discount if i use google checkout still? if yes, then what percentage/discount? i like style of safecom design but am heading towards the sumvision altho its more ugly looking due to it seems that the safecom has a bad fan

It's £10 if it's your first registration of google checkout. But otherwise it seems no (which is a shame)

Flip a coin, they are the same price and the same thing. If you feel safer with one then go with that.

You have to spend £30 or more to get Google Checkout to work.

I have several of the sumvision (bought from scan, so buy two and get free shipping) and they work OK. If you want something a bit sleeker and /or SATA then look at that Asaka caddy - about twice the price from Scan.

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK (That is blue, IDE but they do a SATA/IDE version in different colours)

Re: which usb hdd caddy enclosure?

I'd second the 'rubbish sumvision' cage comment, We've got one at work and the power is supplied through some bizarre 4 pin connector which resembles a fat ps2 lead.

Due to the manual nature of the connection, by which i mean the physical pressure needed to connect the cable, ours at work is all wobbly and rubbish. I would avoid!

Re: which usb hdd caddy enclosure?

I have had problems with the power connection on the back, it seems like a needs a really hard press in, and this make the backplate bend inwards. It just doesn't smack of great quality
