wait for 8800gts g92

hi im buying a new right next week and getting a planning to get a Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
shall i wait for the new 8800gts and pick up one of those?

also when is the realese for the new 8800gts?

Depends on whether you mind spending £25-ish more but apparently the new GTS's will be on a par with the current GTX - release date is speculated to be early December.

i dont mind for the performance difference i just hope its early im really eager to get my new system running on a 3 500+barton and x1800xt is lamme but i wnt a new system soo would u suggest the wait

Well i am waiting a while longer to see...hopefully it will be a Christmas present to myself!

All reports suggest it will hit the shelves on the 3rd December so its DEFINITELY worth the wait as its a minimal price increase with 15-20% better performance over the GT(by the looks of it and from what i have read).

The date does indeed look about right as i have asked Scan if they are stocking and i get the ' WE CANT SAY...NDA's'. This usually means they have them sat there but cant tell us until its officially released.

Would a new 8800gts have much of an advantage over a 8800gt when the rest of the system (opteron 165, DDR1 ram) is rubbish?

also: is there much difference between 256MB and 512MB 8800gt?
scan are doing 8800gt for £117 so im tempted.

judgin on availability issues for 8800gt it might be a gamble waiting for the gts....however if you can wait a while and need those extra few fps then why not wait? i cant belive scan were selling a gt for less than £100 though, that is good!
