X360 audio through my X-Fi card

Got my Xbox 360 hooked up to my monitor, with the audio going to aux in on the front panel of an X-Fi Fatal1ty soundcard. Not getting any audio, however. It's all connected properly and the front panel works but I can't hear a thing. Had this working before so I know it's possible, just doesn't want to play ball this time round!

go to sound and audio devices in control panel and ensure that that aux input is not muted, ie the box is not ticked

Ah...it was muted. Still no sound, though. I have a copy of Mass Effect that is just sat there, laughing at me.
