    spoolsv (print spooler)

i recently uninstalled my own printer, because it was vista incompatible. it wouldnt uninstall correctly, and as a result i kept gettin a message saying "spoolsv" could not start, on startup.
subsequently, i stopped it from running at startup.

i now have a new printer, but everytime i allow "print spooler" to run at startup, i get an error message, and my whole os is very unstable. (for example, i cant right click without explorer crashing)

is there anyway to repare the printer spooler, cos if not, i am considering a full format and reinstall, which is very time consuming and long.

many thanks, any input is helpful!

Can you use System restore to go back to before you installed the old printer?

    Re: spoolsv (print spooler)

ye i thought of that, but i uninstalled the printer months ago, and my system restore doesnt go back that far.

i thought this may be useful:
You cannot add a printer, and you receive printer spooler error messages
