PSU for SUGO SG03

I'm going to be purchasing a SG03 very soon I'm in need of a ~500W PSU to go with it with a 120mm fan so I can use the fanless SST-NT06 CPU cooler that fits neatly. I was just going to get the Silverstone short cabled one to make it a neat as possible, then I thought maybe a modular one would be better. Has anyone got any thoughts on the matter?

Reasonable priced modular options are; Coolermaster, Zalman, or Corsair
Else I just go for 500W Silverstone ST50EF-Plus-SC super silent, 80 PLUS, short cable

The corsair is good, and modular is probably the way forward, the cables on the fixed cables on the HX520w are 24pin, 4pin CPU and 8pin CPU obviously you wont need one of these so you will have at least one cable that needs tidying away, the fixed cables are also quite long so will require some tidying. But I'm reasonably sure you will have an easier time cabling with a modular PSU compared to the short cabled offering from SS.

corsair is excellent choice, we have built a Sugo with the Corsair 520W PSU.

yes true but I did not pick it becasue it was more expensive than the others I picked it because you asked for the best option and that fact I did not know it was the most expensive

Yep the corsair is the best and being modular is perfect

Silverstone do short cable packs for some of their PSU's which are specially designed for these small cases.

The Corsair looks like the best one, looked at a couple of reviews and it got top marks but I'm wondering whether the cables might be a bit long for the case. Modular would solve the problem of unused cables but length like 19" for the main cable may counter any benifits. And the price is just my old student ways shining through, I've got a wage now so I shouldn't be so damn cheap! Hehe

Yeah the Silverstone one (linked above) is short cable, especially for this sort of case. I'll have to see how many cables it has to see if I'm going to have lots of spare short cables dangling around...

Hmmmm, have to ponder some more now... definitely buy tonight though, tired of having good computer bits out on the desk in front of me and UT3 waiting to be played...

Another vote for the Corsair.It is an excellent PSU!!

I got a Silverstone PSU for this same case - unfortuantely at time of buying Scan didn't have any short-cable versions in, so I went for long cable. Not exactly easy getting in, but there is void space above the PSU which meant I could tuck excess cables up there. It wasn't very easy though, so would get short-length next time!

Well I started with the Silverstone one, was an excellent fit with the short cables, but after a long install it turned out to be dead!

Went for the Corsair and it seems solid. The modular vs short cable trade off seems about even and after a few zip ties everything was neat enough. Even got a nice little bag to carry my contact juggling ball in...
