    £100 gpu

    what to get???

    X1950 pro
    3750
    7900 (of some flavour)
    8600gts?
    7950gx2?

i mainly play wow (ok, all i play is wow) with the odd bit of trackmania thrown in.

    i'm running a abit ip35, 2160 @ 2.7ghz, 2gb ram, corsair hx620, 160gb hdd, dvd-rw

i quite like the idea of dx10 and the 3750, but i'm not sure if its the best destination for my money.

anyone care to give their reccomendations?

    Re: £100 gpu

errr 7950gx2 for £100? That's what i'd have without a second thought lol

EDIT: i thought they were saying 8600... the 8800GT 256mb is the best card for a tad extra over budget.

    Re: £100 gpu

8800GT will be nearer to £120 when it is released provided there is no price inflation and there are suffiient stocks.

The 3850 is going to have a price cut soon. As it can be had for around £110 anyway it may drop to around to £100 soon!

    Re: £100 gpu

X1950Pro 512MB all the way, there will something else around the corner if you wait long enough for the 8800GT to drop to £120. I mean stupid of others to throw the 8800GT into the mix when it isn't even an option.

    Re: £100 gpu

I doubt it. It's an 8800GT and if you want to spend less it's somewhere in the 7900 series - but really that's not to be recommended as soon they will be two generations behind and almost worthless.

    @Neo

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Available from (allegedly!) tommorow. Got to be worth the extra £20. Why be dissapointed with a lesser card just to save £20, especially when it's soon to be superceded.

    Re: £100 gpu

Is this to replace the X800 in your profile?

The 79xx range is utterly killed off by the ATI 3850 which I notice Scan have in stock for 107quid.

I try to recommend cards that avoid people changing chip manufacturer unless they have to to save driver uninstall issues, but given your budget the 3850 sounds ideal to me anyway. Only other contended does seem the new 256MB 8800GT if you can wait a while for competition to drive the price down.
