htpc case for a m-atx system
I have a m-atx dual core system which is in an Elonex Artisan case ( Elonex Media Center ). After a recent system upgrade, and having real problems with the case, i have narrowed it down to issues with the electronics in the case (the card reader, the lcd, or the volume control etc).
The sytem runs fine outside the case with out the extra usb devices plugged in, but when inside the case i can't get media centre to run at all)
I can buy another case from here ( Elonex Artisan LX DELUXE Barebone - SKT775 With Front Panel Volume Control - Ebuyer ), but i'm a bit concerned that I might get the same problem.
So, does anyone have a htpc case that they would recommend around the £100 - £150 mark? Preferably a low profile one not much higher than the current Artisan that i have.
Thanks

Antec Fusion but its a bit taller than your current case.
Silverstone Milo 2 small and perfectly formed but a touch expensive and you would need to check your cpu cooler would fit, and it only has a 120w PSU (only an issue if you need more than that!).
Silverstone LC11 Includes a 300w PSU and is still slim at 96mm.
The Antec is the most upto date of these cases, but is also the tallest I'm sure any of them would be suitable for your needs (apart from maybe the PSU on the Milo.) I picked cases which came with displays (either VFD or LCD) if you dont require this (can canabalise your old case) then the are more options and the same cases cheaper.

The silverstones are nice.
There is the antec fusion 350 (i think) coming out soon which is more compact :)

Just had another thought have you tried attaching the extras volume/lcd etc when its out of the case? If you have and it boots then maybe the is a short when everything is installed in the case. Find the short solve your problem! :)

I was thinking about that. The problem was that the pc booted fine, but when i tried vista media centre i would only get a black screen or the application would freeze up. I think its more likely some kind of issue with the extra hardware - i suspect the card reader as when i first tried it the bios froze on discovering the card readers drives.
i spent so much time on it before i tried it out of the case that i dont know if i can face the process of trying to work out which part is broken!
