/cry New build not booting
Just built my new PC, it was doing a double boot. It would boot once run for a second then turn off. Then it would then boot up and run fine.
Thought this wasn't right so I took it apart reseated the HS (absolute buggar to do with the Ninja) and now it's not booting up at all. Fans start HDD spins and then it powers down again.
The IP35 Pro post 9.9 on the display so I'm not sure what that means.
Will take it all apart again, but I really don't know what is wrong.
Is it most likely a problem with the CPU overheating due to incorrect HS seating?
I really hope it's nothing too serious...

Just looked here mate :
Universal abit > FAQ-Common
not showing any 9.9 error ? you tried resetting the cmos ?
Re: /cry New build not booting
Nothing wrong with the double boot stutter it's normal, I believe a BIOS update fixes it, but it's fine as it is. Make sure the RAM voltage is set correctly, the boards default is 1.8v - OCZ RAM stock is 1.9 -2.1, Ballistix stock 2.2 (I think, forgotten). I can't remember your original spec you ended up purchasing.
Re: /cry New build not booting
The g.skill and ds3 mobo is the same, your supposed to up the voltage but wether i do or not it works perfect. add +.01 volts to the ram see if you have any luck.
Re: /cry New build not booting
The IP-35 I played with recently wouldn't even post properly with OCZ platinum RAM at board default voltages, it was mandatory you adjust the voltage to 1.9. Fine and dandy after that.
Re: /cry New build not booting
The described (second) problem says either the PSU died (seems unlikely) or there's a short.
My IP-35 Pro booted fine with the default voltage and 4 sticks of Crucial Ballistix, but I upped the voltage to 2.1, as per spec, before playing with it.
9.9 is "Complete power off sequence", which doesn't tell us much.
Re: /cry New build not booting
Cheers for all the help lads.
Took it all out, reseated the HS, and mucked about with CMOS and now it works fine.
Guru is being annoying though, and warning me that at 13 degrees C my CPU is too cold.....
