Microphone port

Just got my self a creative web cam with microphone but don't have any spare plugs for it. My 5.1 speakers are taking up all 3 outputs on my on-board sound (Sound storm) and I've got nothing else to plug it into.

Any suggestions? I've got a spare sound card here but not sure if I can have 2 active at the same time.

yes, you can have multiple sound cards at once, but you can't use them all at once - go to Sound & Audio Devices in the control pannel, then the Audio tab - you can pick which card to use for output, input, and MIDI from in here

yeh ive have the same problem. have to unplug wen i wanna use my mic n use headfones with it. pain in the arse. hmmm can u get multiple mic port adaptors?!

Ah, so I can use my Sound Blaster Live for the input alone?

Yes, select soundstorm for output and Live for input then just use that!

iMc - no you can't get an adaptor because that would mean sending a line output an a mic level input though the same connector which is impossible without some kind of decoding!
