Looks to be really similar to the 8800GT to me, for comparison here are the 8800GTs specs.

* Stream Processors: 112
* Shader Clock (MHz): 1500MHz
* Core Clock (MHz): 600MHz
* Memory Frequency (effective):1.8GHz

The GTS has higher shader and core clocks, but less stream processors and slower memory. No price or release date info that I can see unfortunately.

I posted regarding the incorrect specs in another section earlier.

Is this not the new GTS on the G90? I heard one of those was on the way aswell?

yes memory is slower iirc but the memory bus is more than the 256-bit gt.

This does look very much to me like an old GTS, except for the 512Mb RAM.

Maybe Play have their specs confused?

The review of the new GTS posted the other day said:

That 512MB comes clocked in at 1940MHz DDR while the core and shader clocks come in at 650MHz and 1625MHz respectively.

Which is similar.
What is going on? This is very confusing, I'm planning on buying a new GTS when released (if its not massively over-priced), but now I'm concerned about buying an old GTS by accident.

Or is PNY deliberately seeking to sell old kit as new? There have been one or two dodgy cards in the past. Nvidia have brought this on by not renumbering the cards.

its simple, Play.com have listed the wrong specs

GIGABYTE GeForce 8800GTS G92 512MB for Sale in Singapore - techPowerUp! Forums

the box clearly says 128SPs as it should, granted it does not show the shader/mem speeds but the box with 128SPs alone should be enough to convince you that Play.com are just confused.

Unless this PNY model does have lower clocks like the 8800GT Scan list (1500MHz RAM speed instead of 1800MHz) but still does not discount the 96SP error.

I was referring to the Play.com advertisement I quoted a day before this thread was started(bottom of the first page of the thread on the 31st).
