    memory advice

i am looking to upgrade my pc with an extra gig of memory and cannot decide which is better to get

    1GB Elixir Major, DDR2 PC2-5300 (667), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15 or
    1GB Corsair XMS2, DDR2 PC2-5400 (667), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12

i only use the pc for web surfing , media streaming and the occassional bit of cd/dvd burning. i am completely out of my depth when it comes to memory so any advice would be appreciated.
nearly forgot- i am also looking to purchase a new dvd burner(cheap an cheerful one) as i keep getting a power calibration error even though i have cleaned the lense many times , has any body got any recomendations as to what is a good but cheap burner

    Re: memory advice

If it's extra, i.e. to go with your present RAM, it's best to get the same spec. from the same manufacturer.
As for DVD burners, well they're so cheap nowadays...
I've just fitted this Samsung and it's OK - no problems and burning well.

    Re: memory advice

Don't know about media - just use reasonable quality and, for important things such as ISOs, burn slowly.
