    Re: Crysis settings for 7900gs

I can run the demo ok at 1280x1024 on medium settings on my 7900gs (FSAA off)

Although I've not got around to tweaking the setting yet.

Hmm, i'm gonna creak with my 3007WFP-HC think it might be worth getting a 2407WFP-HC for running games on. Crysis should be arriving today/tomorrow

I think you have the best setup for an AGP system, though I think there was an ATI card that was quite a bit faster than the 7900GS

    You're joking right..

Drop the resolution, it won't look that bad.

I wouldn't waste £450 on a new monitor just for one game which is dull anyway.

My Pc is PCI-E Mate lol, I tried 1440 900 with everything on low and it was just shockingly bad, and with full it is like 1FPS

    Nice monitor BTW

Does resolution just change the image size? I thought with my monitor being widescreen 1280 may give me problems

    Re: Crysis settings for 7900gs

It only changes the number of pixels rendered by the GPU, the scaleing method is either up to the GPU, or the Monitor, depending on how your GPU drivers handle DVI scaling.

    Re: Crysis settings for 7900gs

you might get a few fps.

If it's playable and smooth who cares about fps lol but FRAPS is what you are after.

FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software

Crysis is OK but CoD4beats it hands down. as mike said definately drop the resolution to 1280x768 and try it with medium or low settings. im runng a heavily overclocked gts and my pc struggles with 1680x1050 with most things on medium (a couple on high). definately bag yourself a new gfx card.

    Re: Crysis settings for 7900gs

I run it currently on all medium, on 1024 x 786 , around 30 frames...OKayish...But its not that good a game anyways, Bioshock ran full quality on my system and it was a way better game, COD4 is much better.

If you set everything to high in Crysis, it is photo-realistic! (5 fps) , nice candy.

You could try turning everything low, then increasing, OBJECT QUALITY to medium, WATER QUALITY to Medium, GAME EFFECTS to medium, POST PROCESSING to medium. Do not mess with the SHADERS, they are the heaviest of the lot, anyways try these, you will have a playable game, and not so bad looking, if you cant bear with it, just put the SHADERS to medium, thats all you can do.
