two floppys? I thought the abit site had a BIOS update tool allowing you to do it in windows? have you checked at least?!

Just out of interest, what does flashing the bios give you? (in slightly more specific terms than "a more up to date BIOS") Is there any point if you're having no diificulties with the current one?
Don't need 2 do you? I got AWARD Flash and the new BIOS onto a floppy with the boot stuff on it, I think...
I'd never done it before, but it was nice and easy.
BIOS updates are like driver updates; fix's a few issues, may add a new feature, change an exsisting one, change compatability, increase stability, etc, etc.
Its your choice really. Some people don't change if there are no problems, so like to keep things up to date, problems or not.

have a look on nforcer's hq about nfs bios poists and see for yourself, some updates have probs, some have fixes, all depends what people say. i know some bioses on nfs report higher tempsand make crashing more easy...
Just as an example, my motherboard (Gigabyte 7NNXP) came with the F10 BIOS. Now, one of the reasons I bought it was the extra two PATA sockets on the board. Sadly, I found out that you could only run them in RAID, unlike previous similarly-coloured Gigabyte boards (GA-7VAXP[A], if I recall correctly). Along comes BIOS version F13 (I think it was), and hey, presto, the ability to use the two PATA sockets as additional non-RAID ATA sockets. So, in all, this motherboard can take a total of 10 non-RAIDED drives, excluding anything on floppy. Fairly impressive, no? Not that my dinky 300W PSU will ever allow me to do that.
the recent 2.1 abit bios for the nf7 alleges to have nividia system utility support... i just tried the new bios and a reinstalled system utility and it still jams.
the flash menu still cant download a new bios, but if you download manually it can still update as easily as the award utility does.
A bit off topic, but are do all new BIOS' contain all the old BIOS fixes in them?

and now i can modify nf7-s rev 2 fsb in realtime and it reads good in cpu-z...
time to play around...
i just installed it and running it from desktop...
Works for me although officially no multiplier changing support (but you can edit a file value)
Im changing the bios for overclocking reasons, d17 just doesnt seem to get me anywhere so im changing back to d10
buff dunno m8, i just downloaded 8rdavcore utility that has support for nfs s rev 2, i got bios 2.1 and i just got some really high oc's from within windows, can change almost all voltages and clocks... ez
