P5K-E Onboard Soundrivers + Speaker Locations

    Hi guys

I'm running Vista 64 on an Asus P5K-E with an onboard sound card, I think it's a Soundmax / Analog Devices jobbie, but does anyone know the specific model so I can get the most up to date drivers from the Analog website?

Also, does anyone know of any software that allows you to drag speaker icons to mimic your own setup and adjust the sound level accordingly... There's a program called "Soundmax Blackhawk" that does this but the whole application doesn't seem to want to work!

    Thanks,

    T

I don't think ADI directly provides driver support to endusers, that's for the OEM to deal with, Asus's support website is usually fairly up to date with driver releases anyway.

I believe the chip is the ADI type AD1988B 8-channel Hi Def Audio Codec. When I looked a couple of weeks ago the latest driver was still the one which came on the Asus disk accompanying my P5KE-WiFi mobo which I bought at the end of August.
Here' a link to the Blackhawk DSP stuff which I don't use as I output via fibre optics to a Yamaha YSP-1100 Digital Sound Projector which has its own onboard DSP.

Re: P5K-E Onboard Soundrivers + Speaker Locations

Sorry to go a bit off tread subject sort of?

I have SoundMAX® BlackHawkTM on my new Asus MOBO... Its sounds good but would it be better to use my Creative X-FI Extreme music PCI card?

Or would people rate the soundMax more as its more up to date even though its onboard?

    Cheer
