    Which power supply?

Need a couple of ultra-low power PSU for my systems.

Ideally need one in 100W range (for a small 24x7 server) and one in 300W range (for NAS). Need to have very high efficiency. Don't mind if there is a fan or not as long as it is cheap.

    Some interesting data for everyone:
    Core2Duo Notebook: Idle 20W Max 56W
Athlon XP 2400+ with old crap PSU (probably 60% efficient or less): Idle 108W
    Pentium D 4Ghz + 7900GT + Tagan Easycon: Idle 181W CPU Max 265W

(Have not tried testing with 3D games since I just bought the power meter)

    Cheers
    Arthur

Sorry to say but cheap and high efficiency don't go together
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

There is a few on there, but as you can see, they get a bit of markup.

Same here, similar setup; put a new Seasonic S12 330W in and it dropped to 85W idle.

The new rig is 45W from the mains (Cool'n'Quiet enabled), so the S12 is at an output where the efficiency drops off (<20%).
For your ~300W setup, the Seasonic, if you can still get it, is very quiet and runs almost cold - Scan doesn't have it listed.

There's bit of a problem getting small, low-powered PSUs that are of good quality - I don't know if Shuttle-type are any good.
