Safe temperatures,voltages and airflow questions!
Hello everybody, just wanted to know the safe voltage for my C2D e6300, ive currently set it to 1.275v in the bios, but asus probe shows it as 1.18V...i have an ASUS P5K-VM board..e6300 sitting on 2.8Ghz..running pretty stable now, plus my ram is kingston 667Mhz value ram, 1GB x 2.....its currently running on 800Mhz with 1.9v....my CPU is idling around 34C....and underload goes to 48 - 50 C....under TAT or Orthos, after a couple of hours, CPU temp is around 53C......Are these voltages and temperatures okay? what is safe for my RAM?....
One more issue...my motherboard was reaching 45C under orthos stress test...ASUS probe gave me a warning at 45C....is 45C too much for the board? what is the safe range for the board? My board has stock heatsinks from ASUS......to ease things a bit i tried something else, my casing is ATX and my board is mATX...so the lower part of my casing was empty, i removed the covers for the PCI slots and fixed my intel stock cooler fan there (ive got an ASUS silent knight now)..the fan fitted between the grills perfectly, blowing out of the case, I dont know much, just want to ask if blowing out means exhausting the air from inside the case? just want to know if its feasible to use the fan at that place.Thanks

Board should be safe up to 50'C. That temperature is probably the Northbridge temperature rather than the board itself. May be you should consider adding a fan that blows against the whole motherboard in general?
For that stock cooler fan, try make it as a intake instead of exhaust? (i.e. Blowing into the case).
53'C for the CPU should be normal. My Mobile C2D (T7200) constantly goes over 78'C without any sign of problem.
Not sure about voltage though.

Is intake more important than exhaust? there is a small hole at the front of the casing, when i check, there is some suction of air there (paper is sucked in)....so there is some intake, the stock fan is directly opposite to that hole, working at blowing out. Is it blowing out the air from the case? I know its a stupid question :P

An exhaust low down in the case probably isn't of much use, although it will be pulling cold air in from other places. I presume you have another exhaust fan right? If so, might be of more use to be pulling cool air in down low.

On the whole it is better to push air out of your case rather than pull it in, but equally a balanced intake-exhaust will perform well and will enable you to more easily control the airflow in the case. On the whole a front intake at the bottom and an exhaust on the back level-ish with the CPU is a good set-up and a final point never rely on your PSU as a source of exhaust.
