    Antec P182 case is good

What you after though ? Something quiet ? Something flash and "bling" ? Something small ? Something with good cooling etc ?

You can get an Akasa AK965 heatsink for about £10 from Scan btw, it's as good as if not better then the AC7 Pro
    Main - Intel Core i5 2300 @ 3.5GHz, 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM, Asus P8P67 Pro, Coolermaster iGreen 600w, GTX 480, Antec One Case

    Re: new pc specs

im looking for something that looks ok but has room in it, quite aswell and as im taking my 520w tagan psu from this one it has lots of cables unfortunitly =/

btw it will be a gaming rig and i do wanna play css and cod4 at pretty high spec.. do you think 800 mhz ram is good enough instead of 1033mhz is it?

    Re: new pc specs

800MHz is more than adequate. You won't notice a difference between the two unless you are doing an extreme overclock.

My akasa eclipse is great for a non modular psu with long cables but the P182 is my pick of the bunch. The slight cheaper antec 900 is also a very good case.

This is a great case on a budget to.

    Re: new pc specs

    Antec p182 or Gigabyte Aurora
Looks sound what you have. I think the e6750s are that price now and u can get go stepping for them.

If you fancy any overclocking then get a better HS&F I like scythe Mine, Ninja and Infinity. The arctic cooling Freezer pro is a bargain though.
    Power supply should be fine.

    Re: new pc specs

A revision (the best revision) of the chip that makes it use less power and thus run cooler therefore..overclocks better

    FG GeForce 8800 GT OC2 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (£187.99)
    ANy reason for the GT?
The Gainward (excellent manufacturer) 8800GTS G92 can be had for £15 more and is a faster card, cooler card, quieter card.
Hands down winner for only £15 more.

    The 8800gt 512 beats the old 8800gts 320mb
    The new 8800gts 512mb beats the 8800gt 512mb

It's all a bit confusing, but that said the lowest I've seen the Gainward 8800gts for is £215 and I really wouldn't pay over £180 for the 8800gt

Also hope ether your hard drive or dvd or cdrw is sata.
Remember that the new motherboards only have 1 IDE port on them so you can use no more than 2 IDE devices.

    Re: new pc specs

I'm wondering if you're talking about the older G80 320/640mb GTS. The newer 512mb G92 mentioned above seems to be slightly faster in general especially at the higher resolutsions above 1280x1024. If it's only £15 more then I would be very tempted.

Having said that I still think the 8800GT is a fine card apart from the single slot cooler which can be pretty loud. Mine used to jump from the idle rpm (whatever that is) straight to 100% when the gpu hit 80-90C.
