Razer AC-1 + HP-1

just ordered these as i was on the lookout for a new soundcard. and a pair of headphones (especially 5.1's) would be very useful... reviews all seem very, very positive. can anyone here concur?

oh so its me on my own then, i know its slooooow at the moment but i thought at least one person would have been down this road.. oh well, i know the sound card will be brilliant so does anyone have a paragraph review in there own words of the headphones?

I was thinking about getting this combo myself, the AC-1 has opensource ALSA drivers in the pipeline, something which will probably never happen for the X-Fi (for which half it's functionality is broke under vista), and the connectivity options are very enticing.

only XP for the foreseeable future. creative piss me off as far as soundcards go (me likey there mp3 players apart from niggles). if someone could give me a GOOD reason why the x-fi's cant do 5.1 through optical (i mean properly) while the Auzentech x-fi and a hell of a lot of solutions since around the time of the nvidia soundstorm can. even on the premium cards they make that would be great. i just dont think they care about anything but another fancy product name.

MadduckUK - you get this combo in your system yet? I wondered what your thoughts were?

You mentioned XP - is that what you have? Any problems? Have you tried Vista?

I'd really appreciate your thoughts, bcs I've looked at this setup in the past, but couldn't find any really good reviews. You often seem to know what you're talking about, so I hope you don't mind me asking you...
