Arrgh, the left click just died on me, checked the guts and the microswitch has worn out.
Anyone know how easy it is to source either a replacement mouse (only the mouse, don't need all the other stuff) or a compatible microswitch?

contact logitech?
ill give u £5 for it if u cant get it fixed
heh, it's kinda old and rather battered lol, oh and if you want a giggle, this is the message I sent to logitech's customer services dept..
Well, if nothing else it might give them a giggle (I really have been up far too long with not enough sleep)Hello,
My MX700 mouse has just developed a problem with button 1 (left), it no longer functions at all, as I have had the mouse longer than the warranty period (long anough for most of the logitech badge, and silver colouring to wear off the mouse anyway - not really impressed with that by the way, it looks a little too "lived-in" for it's age) I decided to open up the internals of the mouse (also giving me a chance to de-fluff the scroll wheel), it was as I suspected, the Omron branded microswitch appears to have given up the will to live.
I've checked online and I cannot find an identical match for the microswitch part number, so I was wondering if you could either supply the correct microswitch, a source of an equivalent (possibly sturdier) part, or even a replacement mouse part (I believe Microsoft will replace their own worn out mice no questions asked, other than the customer's address and the serial number of the defunct rodent).
Many Thanks,
Stuart

Well you might be in luck there Stoo - I read that a guy bought a wireless logitech desktop second hand in a police auction - but wasnt given a receiver. He phoned logitech to ask if there was anything he could do, and BAM they sent him a receiver - free of charge.
Now thats customer relations schwartzenegger style, mofo
Do you think when Jesus comes back..... he ever wants to see another cross.......? *{God bless you Bill}

yep, logitech are superb. they also have amazing warranties and quite possibly the best tech support people i've ever encountered. I emailed regarding the DiNovo keyboard, bluetooth and linux, and though not actually supported (nor plans unfortunately) i was given enough links to have a play
edit: they also managed to fixed a keyboard with a hardware fault over the phone with me only taking off the battery cover lol
