Sand + Laptop = Bad

Man, someone buys you a zen garden (mini sand pit pretty much) and when you have to squeeze your new system next to a laptop, you move your sand pit to the shelf above..... I knew if I left it there I would drop it on something important, but I thought I had at least a few more days to go before I screwed up, but no, I just dropped sand all over the keyboard of my laptop, and thats impossible to get out of the keys, and to make matters worse I clean up everything but the keyboard, and as soon as the keboard gets moved it drops a fresh load... anyone got any great tips for this one, its 2 in the morning, i need my laptop for work (even though its my laptop) so I have to blag it tommorow, so it ggives me friday to tidy the thing up properly.... BUT I NEED HELP

And to make matters even worse I just got sand in my eye..... im going to sleep..... I suck

what laptop is it?

have u tried a hoover?

was the sand wet? if so let it dry

arent laptop keyboards removable to allow upgrades?

if so

take the focker off and shake it like a bustard

hoover all the way. my uncle spilt tea all over his keyboard once n hoovered atraight away n it worked.

u can pull the keys off sumtimes too and they jus slot bac in.

Gutted! I remember one time I split tea on my keyboard and tried to dry it with a hair dryer!!!! It melted/warped most of the keys so they were unusable! Lucky it was a crappy old packard bell one....

Shake like you've never shaken before....

Yeah, hoover or prize all the keys off and then use a paintbrush to sweep it out!

They need to reinvent keyboards :P

They have! There's a laser leyboard that works on any flat surface due out soon, but the link to it shown in Custom PC is dead! It says www.ibiz.com but there's nothing there! :rolleyes:

i took off the keboard but the cable connecting it to the laptop mobo is very thin and looks kind of fiddly to take off. Not sure if I can remove the keys though. I managed to clear most of the sand that had slipped round the edges using damp tissue and blue tack, but everytime i move the keyboard it drops more back in. And someone has given away our hoover that has the attachements on :(

Anyone know how to take the keyboard cable out, guess its pretty simple, but any know anything useful on it?
