Not a problem per se, more of an annoyance.
I have two root folders on my D drive that both contain loads and loads of subfolders that go fairly deep, with thousands of files in (photos and music folders basically), each time I load Windows explorer to browse these folders, when I click on each folder the hard drive seeks for about 6-8 seconds before opening them. It won't do it every time I open the folders, I guess once it's got them out of the cache or whatever...
Anyone know what might cause this? It doesn't do it to any of the other root folders on the drive, just those two. It's done it before this drive too; i.e when I had the folders on my old hard drive, and simply copied them across.
I've tried defragging to no avail.
Any clues? Ta
