Motherboard for my new system (help please)
I had originally spec'd for the following board from scan:
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
However, it is now out of stock and they are unsure as to how long it will be before it comes back in.
I have just seen this one on scan's homepage at a discounted price of £68:
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
Is it a good board? is it better or the same as the gigabyte board i had originally spec'd?
Cheers
Dan
Re: Motherboard for my new system (help please)
you didn't post the link for your original board.
However, the IP-35 is a fanatastic board and one of the very few I can thoroughly recommend :)

I would take the abit over that board anyway.
Abit have fantastic support right here on hexus with their abit.care forum (at the top) and the boards are high quality with a near perfect layout.

excellent thanks very much, ill buy it now :D
Re: Motherboard for my new system (help please)
There are only 2 faults I can find with the Abit IP-35
One - position of the additional 4 pin molex power connector could be slightly better
Two - First time memory posting, it's best to only install 1 stick of memory when you first turn on the pc because most pairs of memory will not post at the stock 1.8v
(basically you need to boot it with 1 stick in to be able to get to the BIOS where you can then increase the memory Voltage so it will post when you have 2 or more sticks in)
Both of these points are fairly minor niggles more than anything else and I'd say that it's a good board :)
