    External Hard Drive

I'm looking for a 500Gb external hard drive.

I first looked at Scan and found a SATA drive and caddy for £81

500 GB Western Digital WD5000AAKS Caviar SE16, SATA II, 7200 rpm, 16MB Cache, 8.9 ms
AKASA P2 Series 3.5" e-SATA/USB-Quad Int. Combo Ext. Silver Aluminum SATA/IDE Encl.

    Then I found on Amazon..

Western Digital My Book 500GB Essential USB2.0 External Hard Drive
    £72.98

LaCie, Desktop Drive , Design by F.A Porsche, 500GB, 7200RPM, USB2, Mac and PC, Plug and Play
    £66.00

I assumed that a drive and caddy would be cheaper than a retail version but am very surprised that it isn't. I guess that the LaCie might have a poorer quality hard drive but assume that the WD My Book will use a WD hard drive?

Which one would you recommend I get and why?

TigerDirect and Newegg have good deals on hard drives.
