    Soundcard question

    Hi,
at present I have a Razer AC1 soundcard plugged into my EVGA 680i Mobo. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it's possible to use the razer card for my headphones and gaming, but use the built in Mobo soundcard for Windows media player. Reason being, I have the Barracuda headset so don't want to fit the dongle to go to cables, split them to go to headset & speakers, then 2nd dongle to go from cables back to soundcard.

    thanks in advance!

    Re: Soundcard question

Yes it is, but unless WMP and/or your game has the ability to select an output, you'll need to manually change window's audio output device under "Sounds and Audio Devices" every time you want to switch between them.

    Re: Soundcard question

alternative option - sexy speakers that take an optical cable is what im doing, and as the headphones look built to last and PCI slots arent going to die anytime soon this should last me indefinitely.
