PC Pro is the overall best IMO, i also like PCW, but PC format is a fun read. But i agree PC format went really down hill and is now just 'PC Gamer Lite edition'. The first part is old news and just about pointless websites you already saw like a month or two ago. But i am also glad they dont put half naked birds on the front of PC format any more, you looked like such a loser reading it on the train and it just made my GF think PC fans where sad geeks who could not talk to girls, let alone date one. Of course thats often true, but a stereotype thats well out of date and often wrong. Must have put a lot of girl readers off buying it too because its so chauvinistic.

Before I order a subscription, anyone know if there are any special offers for new subscriptions for PC Pro?

If you click on the Subscribe Now button via their website (PC PRO - IT News & Reviews) the subsequent screen is promising a 33% saving and a free cd...

May be worth having a look? (Though it could be fairly standard for all I know! I've been subscribing for some years.)

Re: What's the best computer magazine to subscribe to?

I used to read PC pro, but found it a bit too office PC based and a bit dry and dull. I look after and buy the few PCs at work, but I'm not fussed about reading about office PCs every month. I'm not fussed about tweaking the office PCs for performance as they run word etc just fine, when I do need to sort problems out I can find what I need online. So, if you're looking after PCs in an office where users for some reason get to demand/waste money on absolutely the most up to date PCs for typing documents and editing the occasional image then PC pro might be for you.

Custom PC however I've been a keen reader of for maybe more than two years and now a subcriber. Then thats because I love tweaking my home gaming PC and buying new bits for it. I like the honest and not afraid of being critical reviews as well as the technical insight. The only downsides are that my last major buys have been before Custom PC got around to reviewing those items and that the games reviews are a bit crap. In that crap games don't get slated like they should and that great games don't even get reviewed, so just ignore the games reviews although the game tune-up guides are quite useful. In general Custom PC has maybe gone off the boil, but I would put that down to the editor having left recently. I hope they get a really good new editor.

So, another vote for custom pc from me.

If you already use QuidCo, I'd recommend this link to get £4.80 cashback
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.
