My laptop and its graphics performance
well its pretty damn good to be honest,
i got a 2.2 c2d, 2gb ram and a HD2400..... which i thought was going to be sh!t with evrything but its a bit hit and miss.
HL2 and all other stuff on steam can be turned up to max detail and max resolution and it runs very well indeed, but every other game i have runs like its on a pentium 2, im talking crysis,cod4,medal of honour airbourne, the witcher and a bunch of other stuff.
so my question is this, i heard that laptop graphics are interchangeable nowadays and i know for a fact asus make a model of mine with a HD2600, so can anybody tell me where i can find a new GFX card for my asus F8P?.
Re: My laptop and its graphics performance
I've not heard of laptops where you can just pull out the graphic card and fit in another one - but I have heard of Express Card Graphics Card upgrade. I've not heard of an update since the version with the 7900GS (I don't think it really picked up). That said, it should provide a decent boost to the HD2400 at the cost of portability.
Re: My laptop and its graphics performance
If the laptop has a Mxm cartridge slot in side it is upgradeable otherwise your out of look
Re: My laptop and its graphics performance
Generally thee changable ones are very high end, new go 8800's etc..
I think you will find that lower end ones are soldered and not changable.
Re: My laptop and its graphics performance
ya, laptops stink for gaming! The ones that do game are so expensive, you could building 2 gaming desktop PCs for the price of one gaming laptop!
