well not just one but all of them, in taiwan there are 100's of pc shops in one area.
they all offer the same thing at similar prices, but the shop i went to is te one i always go to as the guy seems nice (but doesnt speak english) and gives me good prices on the stuff i shift on ebay.

I wouldnt mind a E8400 for £90, but no doubt ebay will be flooded with expensive imports..

    Re: New cpu's are here!

Shouldnt the snapshot in the 1st post be saying something like:
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU

It only says Genuine Intel(R) CPU

Secondly, is the CPU in the snapshot Overclocked? Which is my guess, considering the FSB to be at 333 and Rated FSB at 1330 (shouldnt it be 1333 if it is stock clocked?)

If it is overclocked, then why is CPU-Z showing it to be at 3.0Ghz in the specifications? Shouldnt it show its stock speed?

And if it is on 3.0Ghz stock, why is it for £90??

    Just curious...

    The E8400 is a 3GHz chip, stock.

Motherboards and their clock generators all have slight variations. it's far from unusual for the final CPU speed to be off by several MHz in either direction.

It's 80 pounds because money goes farther in Taipei, as it does in most places that are not the UK.

Not really. It's 2nd from top in regards to the dual core CPU's out of 5 CPU's

    8500>8400>8300>8200>8190

They've only gone up .16Ghz for the top CPU. Hardly the biggest increase in clockspeed I've ever seen! Performance per clock has only gone up marginally.

Probably already here. Just not for sale yet. They are meant to be ready for delivery on the 21st. They will probably be on preorder tomorrow.

    So basically it's the same as a e6600 oc to 333fsb except it's 45nm.
Excuse me if I don't hold my breath it soes seem that intell have finally realised that these chips can be eaisly overclocked to these levels without out problem or much knowledge.
