Quick ram comparison - which one?

    Looking at ocz ram -

    1) OCZ Platinum DDR2 PC6400 4096MB KIT, w/two 2048MB PC6400 XTC, CL5-5-5-4

    2) OCZ Gold XTC DDR2 PC6400 4096MB KIT, w/two 2048MB PC6400 XTC, CL5-5-5-15

Cost the same - which would you choose? Does the timings make any difference in the real world?
    E8500 - DFI P45 - 4Gb Corsair DHX - 4850 crossfire - X-Fi - water cooled and nice and quiet

If they cost the same the platinum ones. They don't make a great deal of difference I suppose but they make a difference.

Any specific reason you chose this RAM and 4GB (except for the kickass looks ) i would recommend you go for either some corsair or crucial RAM, as they have great customer survice. And if you intend on overclocking corsair and crucial are great.

P.S if i had to chose i would go with the OCZ platinums also i doubt you will notice any real perfomance gains in games and so on with the timings.

You will anger blitzen by saying such things

OCZ are as good as any and corsair does not overclock well.

No idea how much you are planning to spend or have found them for but this could be worth a look, closer timings and even funkier looks

    OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Reaper HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR800C44GK)

Thanks people! Just looking at 4Gb kits (hoping that they would be an improvment over a 2Gb - pc6400 - Kit) and happened to see these OCZ kits for £60 and £62inc

Crucial...i agree...they do have very good customer service and they are UK based. You do pay a price premium for that though.

What i am REALLY interested in is where you get the comment about Corsair having great customer service.
Are you living in North America?
If you are i would agree with 100%

If you are European (British probably) then where have you got that information from?
There is next to no customer service for Corsir in the UK (besides forum advice) unless you know somewhere no-one else does.
